Ingredients

Sauce

  • ΒΌ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce or Tamari Use Tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Shrimp

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined, tail-on Use shrimp of the same size for even cooking.
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil For cooking the shrimp.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic; whisk until thoroughly incorporated. Set aside.
  • Place shrimp in a Ziploc bag and add HALF of the prepared sauce to the shrimp. Close the bag and massage the sauce all around the shrimp. Set aside for 15 to 20 minutes.

Cooking

  • Add vegetable oil to a skillet and set it over medium-high heat to warm up.
  • Remove shrimp from marinade and add to the hot oil. You may have to do this in two batches. (Discard marinade.)
  • Cook shrimp for 1 to 2 minutes per side or until cooked through.
  • Add the reserved sauce; stir around and cook for 1 minute or until the sauce just begins to thicken.
  • Remove from heat and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the shrimp marinate longer. If you like some heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. Customize by adding vegetables like bell peppers or snow peas while cooking the shrimp.
