- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- ¼ cup water or tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Taco shells or tortillas
- Optional toppings: shredded lettuce or cabbage diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend, red onions, guacamole or avocado, olives, jalapeños, sour cream, salsa
Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
Add Seasonings: Stir in tomato paste, water or tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Simmer: Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
Prepare Tacos: Warm taco shells or tortillas. Fill each with the seasoned beef mixture.
Add Toppings: Top with your choice of shredded lettuce or cabbage, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, red onions, guacamole or avocado, olives, jalapeños, sour cream, and salsa.
