Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (180g/6oz each, skinless and boneless) Make sure the salmon is fully thawed if previously frozen.
  • 1 tsp olive oil For cooking the salmon.
  • 50 g butter (salted) Divided into portions for cooking.
  • 1 large clove garlic (finely chopped) Adds flavor to the sauce.
  • 2.5 tbsp honey Adjust quantity to taste.
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (fresh) Freshly squeezed for best taste.

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp flour For coating the salmon.
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp mustard powder Optional ingredient.
  • 0.5 tsp salt Adjust to taste.
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper Adjust to taste.

Garnish

  • finely chopped parsley or chives For garnish.
  • lemon slices For decoration and extra flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the seasoning ingredients in a small dish and mix them together.
  • Coat the salmon in the seasoning, shaking off the excess.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil and about 1 tsp of butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once the butter melts, add the salmon.
  • Cook the salmon for 3 minutes or until it turns a beautiful bronzed golden brown. Flip it and cook for another minute.
  • Add the remaining butter, garlic, and honey to the pan. Swirl the mixture around as the butter melts.
  • Simmer for 1 minute, allowing the honey butter mixture to bubble and turn golden.
  • Add the lemon juice and shake the pan to mix it well. Taste the sauce and adjust salt, pepper, or lemon if needed.
  • Turn the salmon over to coat it in the sauce, then remove it from the heat.
  • Place the salmon on plates and drizzle with the sauce. Garnish with parsley and fresh lemon, if desired.

Notes

Pat the salmon dry before seasoning for a better sear. Feel free to adjust the amount of honey for sweetness based on your taste. You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat.
