Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat until fully cooked.
  • Add the sliced peppers and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until slightly softened.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if you want an extra kick.

Baking

  • Divide the mixture evenly into oven-safe bowls.
  • Top each bowl with shredded mozzarella cheese and sliced black olives.
  • Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil. Serve hot!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, swap the Italian sausage with diced zucchini or eggplant. You can also customize your pizza bowl with different toppings such as pepperoni, spinach, or artichokes.
