Ingredients
  

For the meat mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper

For the casserole

  • 2 cups mac and cheese (prepared) Store-bought or homemade.
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese For topping.
  • ¼ cup ketchup For drizzling on top.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Assembly

  • In a greased casserole dish, spread half of the prepared mac and cheese as the base layer.
  • Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it on top of the mac and cheese.
  • Spread the remaining mac and cheese on top of the meatloaf, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Drizzle ketchup over the top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the meatloaf is cooked through.

Serving

  • Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or plant-based meat alternatives.
