Ingredients
  

For the Onion Rings

  • 2 large sweet onions (like Vidalia or yellow onions)
  • 10-12 pieces mozzarella cheese sticks (string cheese)
  • toothpicks or skewers (optional for assembly)
  • batter (flour, eggs, breadcrumbs)
  • oil for frying
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Peel and slice the onions into thick rings. Separate the rings.
  • Place a mozzarella stick inside one of the onion rings and secure it with a toothpick or skewer.
  • Prepare a batter by mixing flour, eggs, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • Dip each assembled onion ring into the batter, then coat it with breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the onion rings until they are golden brown.
  • Remove the onion rings and drain excess oil on paper towels. Serve hot!

Notes

Serve hot and crispy with your favorite dipping sauces like marinara, ranch, or spicy ketchup. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for crispiness.
