Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch square baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients: rolled oats, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract; mix well.

Mixing Dough

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture to form a cohesive cookie dough.
  • Press half of the dough into the prepared pan, then dollop Nutella on top. Swirl it into the dough.
  • Crumble the remaining dough over the Nutella.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes until the edges are golden and the center is soft. Rotate the pan halfway for even baking.
  • Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Serve them warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
