Ingredients
  

Crab Cake Mixture

  • 2 slices dried bread, crusts removed
  • 1 pound crab meat Use fresh or pasteurized crab meat for the best flavor.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup green onions, chopped
  • ½ cup bell pepper, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking

  • Oil for frying Use an adequate amount for frying.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, chopped bread, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, green onions, and bell pepper. Mix gently to avoid breaking the crab meat.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Form the mixture into patties.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Notes

Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days, or freeze them for longer storage.
