Ingredients
  

Brownie Base

  • 400 g Nutella Note 1
  • 200 g unsalted butter 1 3/4 US sticks (14 tbsp)
  • 200 g dark chocolate melts / semi-sweet chocolate chips Note 2
  • 175 g brown sugar loosely packed
  • 3 eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 75 g flour plain/all-purpose, sifted if lump
  • 30 g cocoa powder sifted
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large pot, melt the butter and chocolate over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the Nutella until smooth.
  • Add the brown sugar and mix well. Then, add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Slowly add this dry mixture to the Nutella mixture, stirring until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve these brownies warm or at room temperature. Delicious on their own or topped with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Make sure eggs are at room temperature for a smoother batter. Don’t overmix after adding dry ingredients to keep brownies soft and fudgy. Consider adding chopped hazelnuts for extra texture.
