Ingredients

For the Ribs

  • 1 rack baby back ribs (beef or pork)
  • 1 cup smoky BBQ sauce The good, sticky kind
  • 1 tablespoon dry rub blend Includes salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and a pinch of brown sugar
  • 1 roll heavy-duty foil For wrapping the ribs during cooking

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better texture.
  • Rub the ribs generously with the dry rub blend on both sides.
  • Place the ribs on a rimmed sheet pan lined with foil.

Cooking

  • Cover the ribs tightly with another layer of foil to trap moisture.
  • Bake the ribs in the oven for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  • Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil.
  • Brush the ribs with smoky BBQ sauce and return to the oven uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Optional: Broil the ribs for 2-3 minutes for a caramelized top.

Serving

  • Allow the ribs to rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.

Notes

For tender ribs, consider marinating the ribs overnight. If using country-style ribs, cooking time may be slightly longer. Ribs can be reheated in the oven wrapped in foil at 300°F for juiciness.
