  • 1 pound flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 pieces bell peppers 1 red and 1 green, sliced
  • 1 piece onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil for sautéing
  • to taste salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Marinate the steak in soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper for about 15 minutes.
  • Slice the bell peppers and onion while the steak is marinating.

Cooking

  • Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear it for about 2-3 minutes until browned.
  • Add the bell peppers and onion to the skillet, stirring frequently until the vegetables soften, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water and stir it into the skillet to thicken the sauce.
  • Cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
  • Serve immediately over rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

For serving suggestions, consider pairing with steamed jasmine rice, fried rice, or in lettuce wraps. You can adjust the spiciness by adding or reducing black pepper.
