Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450 g flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce optional
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 yellow onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated (optional)
  • ¼ cup beef broth or water
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a bowl, toss sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of pepper. Let marinate for 10–15 minutes.

  • Add remaining oil to the skillet. Stir-fry bell peppers and onion for 3–4 minutes until just tender.
  • Add garlic (and ginger, if using), cook for 30 seconds.
  • Return beef to skillet, pour in beef broth and oyster sauce if using, and stir-fry everything together for 2–3 more minutes.
  • Adjust seasoning, serve hot over rice or noodles.
