Preparation

  • Peel and cut the turnips and beet into strips or rounds, as preferred.
  • Clean jars and tools thoroughly to avoid spoilage.

Creating the Brine

  • In a pot, mix equal parts water and white vinegar.
  • Add kosher salt and sugar, then heat until dissolved.
  • Let the brine cool before pouring over the veggies.

Pickling Process

  • Fill jars with sliced turnips and beets, leaving space at the top.
  • Pour the cooled brine over the vegetables, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  • Seal the jars and refrigerate for a few days before enjoying.

Notes

Store in a tightly sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 months. Avoid long-term storage at room temperature to prevent spoilage.
