Ingredients
  

For the garlic butter spread

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For the sandwiches

  • 8 slices thick sturdy bread (sourdough or Italian) Use sturdy bread for best results.
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese Melted mozzarella adds gooeyness.
  • ½ cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce For spreading on the bread.
  • 24 slices pepperoni Can be substituted with other toppings.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the softened butter, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until well blended.
  • Take 4 slices of bread and spread pizza sauce on them. Top with mozzarella cheese and 6 slices of pepperoni.
  • Place the remaining 4 slices of bread on top to create the sandwiches.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture on the outer sides of each sandwich.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwiches for about 3–4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and the cheese has melted.

Serving

  • Slice the sandwiches and serve with warm marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.

Notes

Use thick slices of sturdy bread for best results. Feel free to customize your toppings with vegetables or different cheeses. Ensure the skillet is heated properly for a golden crust.
