  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 16 oz tomato sauce 2 cans (8 oz each)
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is browned.
  • Add garlic, salt, sugar, and tomato sauce to the skillet. Cover and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • While the beef is simmering, cook the egg noodles according to the package directions, and then drain them.
  • In a bowl, mix the sour cream and cream cheese together until smooth.
  • In a baking dish, layer the noodles, followed by the cream cheese mixture, and then the beef mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.
  • Top the casserole with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

You can add your favorite vegetables to the layers for extra flavor and nutrition. Consider adding crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of spice. Ensure the sour cream and cream cheese mixture is well stirred for a creamy texture.
