  • 1 lb flank steak Thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets Cut into small pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 in fresh ginger Minced
  • ΒΌ cup low-sodium soy sauce For the sauce base
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar For sweetness

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 medium white onion Chopped, for added sweetness
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce For extra flavor
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil For nutty undertones

Preparation

  • Get all your ingredients ready: beef, broccoli, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil.
  • Cut the beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Wash and chop the broccoli into small florets.
  • Mince the garlic and ginger finely for extra flavor.

Cooking

  • Heat a large pan or wok over high heat.
  • Add a teaspoon of oil in the pan and let it warm up.
  • Add the beef slices to the pan, spreading them out. Cook for 2-3 minutes without stirring.
  • Once beef is browned, move it to one side of the pan and add more oil if needed.
  • Add minced garlic and broccoli, stirring well for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  • Combine beef and veggies, then add your sauce. Stir for another minute to coat evenly.

Notes

Taste and adjust seasoning before serving. Perfect with steamed rice or noodles.
