Steak Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Ribeye steaks Bone-in or boneless based on preference
  • 1 tablespoon Canola or avocado oil For searing
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt For seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper For seasoning

Garlic Herb Butter Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened Bring to room temperature
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 pinch Salt To taste
  • 1 pinch Pepper To taste

Preparation

  • Bring ribeye steaks to room temperature for 30-60 minutes before cooking.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, thyme, rosemary, and lemon juice. Add salt and pepper to taste, blend well, shape into a log, and chill until firm.

Cooking the Steak

  • Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil.
  • Season the steaks with salt and pepper just before placing them in the skillet.
  • Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side until a golden crust forms.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Transfer the skillet to the oven and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes for medium-rare, until the internal temperature reaches 130-135°F.

Serving

  • Remove the steak from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, and top with garlic herb butter before serving.

Notes

Use side dishes like baked potatoes, grilled veggies, or fresh salads. For best flavor, pair with a Cabernet Sauvignon or Malbec.
