Ingredients
  

For the Fish

  • 4 fillets white fish fillets (haddock, cod, tilapia) Choose fillets that are 1-1.5 inches thick.

For the Marinade

  • 2 tbsp olive oil Brush over fish before seasoning.
  • 1 each lemon (juiced) Add zest for extra flavor.
  • 1 tsp honey Optional for sweetness.

For Seasoning

  • 1 tsp paprika For smoky flavor.
  • ½ tsp cumin For a hint of warmth.
  • 2-3 cloves garlic Mince for the base flavor.
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill Finely chopped, adds brightness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F for thicker fish or 400°F for thinner fillets.
  • Pat fillets dry with paper towels.
  • Brush fish fillets with olive oil.
  • In a bowl, mix lemon juice, honey, and minced garlic to create the marinade.
  • Coat fish fillets with the marinade and let rest for 15-20 minutes.

Cooking

  • Sprinkle paprika, cumin, and chopped dill evenly over the marinated fish.
  • Place the seasoned fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for the following times: 12-15 minutes for ½ inch, 18-20 minutes for ¾ inch, and 20-25 minutes for 1 inch thick fillets.
  • Check for doneness by ensuring the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  • Let the fish rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with light salads, steamed vegetables, or whole grains like quinoa or brown rice for a complete meal. Adjust seasoning based on preference and try different herbs for variation.
