  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Measure accurately to avoid dense cookies.
  • ½ cup cocoa powder Use unsweetened cocoa for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Chocolate Chips

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Can adjust the type of chocolate to preference.

Instructions
 

Mixing

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until well mixed.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop large balls of dough and place on the sheet with enough space in between.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, watching for crisp edges and a soft center.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
