Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Drop tablespoons of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them evenly.
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers still look slightly underbaked.

Notes

To avoid overbaking, keep an eye on the cookies at the 10-minute mark. They will firm up slightly as they cool. For gluten-free options, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
