Ingredients

For the cocktail

  • 16 oz tomato juice
  • 2 TBS fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 TBS lime juice
  • 0.5 TBS Worcestershire sauce
  • A few shakes Tabasco
  • 0.5-1 TBS prepared horseradish Not horseradish sauce
  • 2 tsp pickle juice
  • 1 tsp olive juice
  • 1 tsp pepperoncini juice Optional
  • A few shakes black pepper
  • 1 TBS Old Bay seasoning
  • 4-6 oz good quality vodka Or more to taste

For garnish

  • 1 pickle spear
  • 1 celery stalk
  • Additional garnish options include homemade spicy cocktail sauce for dipping shrimp, olives, cheese, or crab legs.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wet the rim of two (16-20 oz) glasses with a piece of fresh lemon. Then, dip the glass rims into a tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning on a flat dish.
  • Fill the glasses halfway with ice.
  • In a separate pitcher or container, mix all the ingredients together. Stir them well to combine.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared glasses.
  • Slide in a pickle spear or a stalk of celery, along with any additional garnishes like cooked shrimp, olives, cheese, or crab legs. Feel free to add a slice of lemon or lime, and if you want something extra, toss in a whole pepperoncini!

Serving

  • Serve the Spicy Bloody Mary immediately after preparing it. The fresh ingredients and chilled ice make it a refreshing choice, especially on a warm day or during brunch. Don’t forget to add your favorite garnishes for that extra flair and flavor!

Storage

  • If you have leftovers, you can store the prepared drink in the fridge for up to 24 hours. However, for best results, it is advised to make it fresh each time. If you have leftover mix without vodka, you can keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days. Just remember to stir well and add fresh ice before serving again!

Notes

Adjust the spice levels according to your taste by changing the amount of horseradish and Tabasco. Experiment with different garnishes to find your favorite combination. Try using a quality tomato juice for a richer flavor. For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the vodka, and add extra spices for taste.
