Gravy Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Cook the chicken until it's golden brown, about 5-7 minutes on each side.
  • Take the chicken out of the skillet and set it aside.

Making the Gravy

  • In the same skillet, whisk in the flour until smooth, cooking for about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the chicken broth slowly while whisking to avoid lumps.
  • Add thyme, oregano, paprika, and onion powder for extra flavor.
  • Put the chicken back in the skillet, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until it's fully cooked.

Notes

For the best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F. Let the chicken rest after cooking to keep it juicy. Try different seasoning blends to customize flavors.
