  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
  • ¼ cup agave syrup About 2 ounces.
  • 6 leaves fresh basil leaves For aromatic flavor.
  • ½ cup tequila 4 ounces; silver or blanco preferred.
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice About 2 ounces.
  • 1 piece lime wedge For rimming the glass.

Preparation

  • In a cocktail shaker, add the sliced strawberries and agave syrup. Muddle them together to release the juices.
  • Add the basil leaves to the shaker and continue muddling until they release their aromatic oils.
  • Pour in the tequila and fresh lime juice. Shake well to combine all the ingredients.
  • Take a lime wedge and rub it around the rim of your glasses. Dip the rims in sea salt to create a salty edge.
  • Fill the glasses with ice, then pour the margarita mixture into each glass.
  • Garnish with fresh strawberry slices and basil leaves for an appealing touch.

Notes
