  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box vanilla or yellow cake mix Other flavors like chocolate or lemon can be used.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, sliced For garnishing.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spread the strawberry pie filling evenly on the bottom.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry filling.
  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top evenly.
  • Pour the melted butter over the dry cake mix evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly, then serve warm topped with fresh strawberries.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving. Consider using fresh strawberries in addition to the pie filling for richer flavor. You can also try other fruit fillings like blueberry or peach.
