Preparation

  • In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar.
  • Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • Gradually add flour, mixing as you go until the dough is thick and not sticky.

Baking

  • Roll the dough into balls, cut into shapes, and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are just barely golden.

Cooling

  • Allow the cookies to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
