Preparation

  • Mince the garlic and chop the green onions. Set aside.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of neutral oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, low-sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  • Pour the sauce over the cooked turkey. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Add red pepper flakes if using and mix in the chopped green onions. Give it a quick stir before taking it off the heat.

Notes

Serve the honey garlic ground turkey over rice, quinoa, or mixed greens. This dish is also delightful as a filling in lettuce wraps or as a topping for baked potatoes. For added crunch, consider using diced bell peppers or broccoli.
