  • 6 cube steaks 4 ounces each
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 –4 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 medium onion diced or sliced
  • 12 ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups beef broth​

Instructions
 

  • Season and Sear: Season the cube steaks with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for about 2–3 minutes per side until browned.​
  • Prepare Slow Cooker: Place the sliced onions at the bottom of a slow cooker. Arrange the seared cube steaks on top of the onions.​
  • Add Gravy Mixture: In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Pour this mixture over the steaks in the slow cooker.​
  • Cook: Cover and cook on low for 2 hours and 30 minutes, or until the steaks are tender.​
  • Serve: Serve the tender cube steaks with the gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
