Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent (about 3–4 minutes).
  • Stir in the uncooked rice and toast for 2–3 minutes.
  • Add garlic powder, paprika, cayenne (if using), black pepper, soy sauce, and chicken broth. Stir to combine.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 18–20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
