- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Salt to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent (about 3–4 minutes).
Stir in the uncooked rice and toast for 2–3 minutes.
Add garlic powder, paprika, cayenne (if using), black pepper, soy sauce, and chicken broth. Stir to combine.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 18–20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
