Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast diced or shredded
  • 12 oz cheese tortellini fresh or refrigerated
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water if needed for thinning sauce

Instructions

  • Cook Tortellini and Broccoli:
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add tortellini and cook according to package instructions. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets. Drain together and set aside, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
  • Sauté Garlic:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (do not burn).
  • Make the Sauce:
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Combine Ingredients:
  • Add the cooked chicken, tortellini, and broccoli to the sauce. Toss to coat everything evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
  • Serve:
  • Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs if desired.
