- 2 cups cooked chicken breast diced or shredded
- 12 oz cheese tortellini fresh or refrigerated
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- ½ cup reserved pasta water if needed for thinning sauce
Cook Tortellini and Broccoli:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add tortellini and cook according to package instructions. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets. Drain together and set aside, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
Sauté Garlic:
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (do not burn).
Make the Sauce:
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens slightly.
Combine Ingredients:
Add the cooked chicken, tortellini, and broccoli to the sauce. Toss to coat everything evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
Serve:
Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs if desired.
