Ingredients for Crab Cheese Mixture

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure cream cheese is fully softened for easy mixing.
  • 8 oz canned crab meat Use fresh crab meat if available for a richer flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning Try mixing in your favorite spices or herbs for a unique twist.

  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced and hollowed

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the cream cheese, Colby Jack cheese, and mozzarella cheese until smooth.
  • Gently fold in the crab meat, being careful not to break it apart too much.
  • Place the hollowed French bread on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Fill the bread with the crab mixture and sprinkle extra cheese on top if you like it cheesy!

Baking

  • Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

To store leftovers, wrap the bread tightly in foil or plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator. Best eaten within a few days. To reheat, place it in the oven at 350°F until warm again.
