Main Ingredients
- 3 oz tequila blanco about 1/3 cup
- 2 oz watermelon liqueur about 1/4 cup
- 1 ½ oz fresh lime juice about 3 tablespoons
- ½ oz agave nectar or simple syrup, about 1 tablespoon
- 1 cup cubed watermelon
- 1 tbsp coarse sea salt for the rims
- 2 cup ice for the glasses
- 2 watermelon triangles for garnish
Cooking
Blend. Blend the tequila, liqueur, lime juice, agave, and watermelon on high until smooth.
Rim the glasses. Moisten the rims with lime juice, dip in coarse sea salt, and fill the glasses with ice.
Strain. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer over the ice, pressing out the juice.
Garnish. Top each glass with a watermelon triangle and serve right away.
Substitutions: Use orange liqueur in place of watermelon liqueur, and simple syrup in place of agave. Replace the tequila and liqueur with 4 ounces of sparkling water for a drink without alcohol.
Tips: Do not drive after drinking alcohol. Use a cold, ripe melon.
Storage: Keep the blended mixture covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and stir before pouring over ice.
