How to Make Whipped Feta Dip

Making Whipped Feta Dip is easy and quick. Just follow these simple steps:

Ingredients:

  • 400g / 10 oz Danish feta (at room temp, creamy sort, not crumbly Greek sort)
  • 125g / 4 oz cream cheese (at room temp) or 3/4 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic (crushed using a garlic press)
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon zest (optional)
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (for drizzling)
  • 2 tbsp pistachios (roughly chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp parsley (finely minced)
  • Pinch of chili / red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sprinkle of lemon zest (optional)
  • Thick slices of bread (warmed)
  • Lebanese pita or flatbread wedges
  • Crackers
  • Veggie sticks (ie crudités)

Directions:

  1. Feta Dip: Place all ingredients except the oil in a food processor. Blitz on high for 10 seconds or until smooth, scraping down the sides once. (A stick blender can be used, but a stand mixer will not work.)

  2. Olive oil: With the motor running, slowly pour the olive oil through the feeder. Blitz until the dip is smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.

  3. Spread the dip on a shallow plate, making it around 1.5 cm / 0.6″ thick. Use the back of a spoon to create swirls for the honey and oil to pool in.

  4. Drizzle the honey and olive oil over the dip. Sprinkle with pistachios, parsley, chili, and lemon. Serve immediately with your choice of dippers!

How to Serve Whipped Feta Dip

Whipped Feta Dip is best served fresh. You can present it in a shallow bowl or plate and arrange dippers like thick bread slices, pita wedges, crackers, or fresh veggie sticks around it. This way, everyone can easily help themselves.

How to Store Whipped Feta Dip

If you have any leftovers, store the dip in an airtight container in the fridge. It will keep well for 3 to 5 days. When ready to serve again, give it a good stir and you can even add a little extra olive oil to freshen it up.

Tips to Make Whipped Feta Dip

  • Make sure to use room temperature ingredients for a smoother blend.
  • Adjust the seasoning to your liking by adding more or less garlic, lemon zest, or chili flakes.
  • For a fun twist, try adding in some herbs like dill or basil for extra flavor.

Variation

You can substitute the feta with goat cheese for a different flavor. Additionally, try adding roasted red peppers or sun-dried tomatoes for extra taste and texture.
