Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen blackberries
  • Optional: coarse sugar for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
  • Gently fold in the blackberries.
  • Divide batter evenly among muffin cups and sprinkle tops with coarse sugar if desired.
  • Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
