- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen blackberries
- Optional: coarse sugar for topping
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease.
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
Gently fold in the blackberries.
Divide batter evenly among muffin cups and sprinkle tops with coarse sugar if desired.
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
