Ingredients
  

For the Blueberry Syrup

  • ½ cup Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup blueberries Fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup water Used for making syrup

For the Lemonade

  • ¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice Use fresh lemons for best flavor
  • 5 cups water

Instructions
 

Prepare the Blueberry Syrup

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and 1 cup of water over medium heat.
  • Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the blueberries and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes until blueberries break down.
  • Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth or fine sieve to remove solids and allow to cool.

Mix the Lemonade

  • In a large pitcher, whisk together the blueberry syrup, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 5 cups of water.
  • Place the pitcher in the refrigerator until chilled.

Serve

  • Serve the Blueberry Lemonade over ice and garnish with additional blueberries if desired.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Stir well before serving as ingredients may settle. For a sweeter drink, adjust the sugar to your taste. You can freeze blueberries to use as ice cubes.
