  • 2 medium Tomatoes, diced Select juicy tomatoes.
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped Red or white onions may be used.
  • ΒΌ cup Cilantro, chopped Fresh cilantro adds flavor.
  • 1-2 units Green chilies, chopped Adjust spice level to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice Freshly squeezed lemon juice is best.
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder Roasted cumin adds a nice flavor.
  • Salt to taste Salt Use as per preference.

Preparation

  • Wash and select fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions.
  • Chop cucumbers, tomatoes, and onion into small, even pieces.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped vegetables, cilantro, and green chilies.

Dressing and Assembly

  • In a separate bowl, mix lemon juice, salt, and cumin powder.
  • Pour the dressing over the chopped veggies and mix well.
  • Let the salad sit for 15-20 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with additional cilantro or mint if desired.

Kachumber Salad is versatile; feel free to customize with seasonal vegetables or herbs. Serve fresh for the best flavor, and keep the dressing separate if making ahead.
