- 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: squeeze of lemon juice grated Parmesan, red pepper flakes
Bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch green beans for 2–3 minutes until bright green.
Drain and immediately transfer beans to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking. Drain again.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant (don’t let it burn).
