  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Whole wheat is an alternative
  • ½ tsp baking soda Helps the bread rise
  • Pinch salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan (8x4 inches).
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth with no chunks.
  • Add melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
  • Whisk in the egg, sugar, and optional vanilla extract.

Mixing

  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Stir the dry mixture into the wet banana mixture, being careful not to over-mix.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and add optional toppings if desired.
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use very ripe bananas. Avoid over-mixing after adding flour to keep the bread light and fluffy. Let it cool a bit in the pan before slicing to prevent crumbling.
